In Colombia, the independence process took place between 1810 and 1819 to liberate the territories owned by the Viceroyalty of New Granada. In 1910, one hundred years after independence, the Independence Park was inaugurated as a symbol of the liberation of territories. Despite this relevant independence event, colonialist and neo-feudalist canons remained and remain in the foundations of the country; a logic within which a landowning minority dominates the spheres of power. Public goods are perceived as abstractions that are often usurped, abstractions that are often unclaimed.

Imitating these private usurpations of public goods, I appropriate a square meter of this emblematic park. I seek to sow reflections on the layers of this independence, I wonder how to generate a common project around the public, and how, as citizens, we can reclaim them.
