Peeing Together as Weeds
Wildpinkler*innen
Our notion of the tamed and untamed has been heavily influenced by the duality of the civilized and the savage, a binary which sows a toxic correlation of frameworks that privilege certain worlds views – worldviews that maintain the hegemonic order, the standard, the social contract.
Embodying the untamed is thus undoing years and years, and centuries, of corporal oppression, of historical classifications and of gender performativity. Incorporating the untamed is aligning the body with the landscape, both as a listening device and as a channel.
What is the sonic composition of our pees?
Could we form a collective stream of water?
Peeing in public and the life of weeds are closer than you might think.
It’s not only about questioning the moral and social codes when you lower your pants and make yourself at home in public, but it’s about a real synergy – nettles for instance grow in nitrogen rich soils, which often emerge as a result of the urea released when peeing. It’s no surprise that nettles grows near party venues and behind the most half hidden bushes that offer ground for this secret stream.
Can my whistle help you relax?

In this audio piece, the waters from that event flow between stories told afterwards by some who attended and others who wanted to attend but could not. With partial anonymity, those who recognize the voices will be able to identify the authors of the stories.
